With a great ball game, the El Paso Chihuahuas practically opened the 2018 season when they faced the San Diego Padres in an exhibition match at the Southwest University Park.
The white, red and black colors and the shirts of the Chihuahuas in their different styles showed off in the bleachers while “Chico” and the cheerleaders animated the game.
In the presence of nearly 10 thousand people, the game went by with great emotions since Walker Lockett, the pitcher, opened the game. The home team surpassed at first after Rudy Girón made the first homer with a man on bases, scoring the first two races.
The happiness in the stands rose as the game went on and it was in the seventh inning when the ninth canine made a rally of three races to tie the board.
Although the opponent was superior and won the game with a final score of eight to six, the local fans gave their support to their team that is already preparing to begin the season in the month of April.
