With great excitement and joyfulness, the third edition of the Winterfest 2018 was inaugurated to offer border families with fun, entertainment, and attractive offers for seasonal purchases. The organizers of the event gave the starting signal at the emblematic Plaza San Jacinto, located in the historic downtown center of El Paso, where an ice skating rink was set up, and the parade of the ‘Celebration of Lights’ and the lighting of the Christmas tree was inaugurated by Mayor Dee Margo.
Within the attractions of the corridor, tours are offered by train; also attendees could enjoy music, food, seasonal drinks, free transportation, walks-through by the Paseo de las Luces and a variety of low-cost merchandise.
To engage the center’s merchants and attract more cross-border buyers, El Paso Live and the city of El Paso joined forces with the El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD) and the El Paso Central Business Association ( CBA).
Winterfest has become a tradition and is visited by thousands of families from different parts of the United States and Mexico, thanks to the sponsorship of important commercial houses such as the Providence Hospitals and El Paso Electric, among other organizations.
